So what is Stake.co.uk all about? At present the full answer to that question is unknown. The site will evolve as the community grows. The site is the brainchild of Bob Sheth, a self confessed Internet Entrepreneur. The site is a platform to discuss and commentate on everything to do with Internet Entrepreneurship. Particular attention will be paid to new niches, innovative Internet start-ups, online communities, new business concepts and more. There are two main parts to the site; the stake blog and the stake community. If you would like to take part then please feel free to register with the community.

Now (January 2009) is a great time to start, build and nurture an Internet business. The traditional ecomony is credit crunching into meltdown on a global scale. These boom and bust cycles are an economic form of natural selection. The businesses that deserve extinction will die and new business models will be born. At the end of every recession, bust cycle there is the start of a new wave which becomes the next boom cycle. Companies like Google, Facebook, Myspace (and countless more) know how to ride this wave. So as the credit crunch eases, as interest rates tumble to zero, as banks get a jump start to lend again – who will be this new breed of Internet startup and Web Entrepreneur?
