Default Movie Blog

A friend of mine has a movie-related blog where he posts movie reviews, comments, etc. He finds some rare gems, too, so it is really good stuff. You'd think with all the popular actors names and such, the blog would generate tons of traffic, but so far, it does not. Probably the reason is that it is relatively new, only several months old. What do you think?

There is a possibility that it would generate a large amount of traffic if he would work more on the SEO part. If you have a lot of back links then you will definitely get more traffic from search engines.

Celebrity blogs (movie, Hollywood, gossip, etc) are so popular that your friend is really going to have to work to get above the competition. Doing some work on the backlinks would be good - maybe some social bookmarking? That technique does well with hot of the presses type of celebrity news.

I have tried in the post to operate a blog like that and the competition is really large. There are so many celeb, music and movie blogs out there which often have nearly the same content.

Yes, it is probably because of competition and not enough backlinks (yet). I think he has found a good niche though by not just posting about celebs and the newest movies that everyone is talking about but also including some good old classics and unknown gems he reviews.
