I'm not talking about auto surfing programs where no one looks at your site but the manual traffic exchanges. I have heard many people say they are useless but I have seen just as many people say they are great. Obviously, the second group is doing something different than the first to see success.

I have used a couple of traffic exchange sites in the past, they helped to boost traffic to my site, but there were no sales since the people who came were not really interested in what I had to offer - they only visited my site because they wanted their own sites visited.

I earn most of my online revenue through my Adsense sites and traffic exchanges could lead you to getting banned from the Google Adsense program. I therefore stay far away from these type of traffic exchange programs.

Like any newbies, I have my share of using them on the past but they aren’t converting so I have to stop on patronizing them. I don’t know what other webmasters are doing for them to make it convert but one thing is sure, the conversion is too low.

Yes, if you host Adsense ads, using traffic exchange is a big no-no. Google tracks that stuff and will ban your Adsense account for it, often without warning. The site I used traffic exchange for had no Adsense ads, so I was safe.

You are absolutely right. My best friend was stupid enough to join a traffic exchange program and within days he was banned from Google Adsense.

Link exchange is good for traffic exchange but it is beneficial only when, when you do link exchange with your relevant sites.
