Default Group Purchasing

Has anyone used group purchasing? Ive been looking at it recently and sounds good (alot of savings to be made across most industries), but do not know the risks involved.

Could we start something like that here?

Default Group purchasing

Hi,

What do you mean by 'group purchasing'.

I now work for a multi present in 64 countries, and group purchasing can work efficiently considering the 80 vs 20 rule.

80% of the group turnover means 20% of the items purchased and vica versa.

The risk might be a global contract if you find saving opportunities locally: the global contracted qty can be less: as a result there is loss in saving.

If you think globally (group purchasing) you also have to take into consideration the local buyers (they think and act locally) and the loss of saving can be avoided by a few phonecalls.

Sure, I have seen a lot in this field, should you have specific questions, just do contact me. A lot of problems, risks can emerge.

If you want to buy anything in Vietnam, you can ask us via Sourcing and Purchasing Club of Vietnam.

Sourcing & Purchasing Club (SPC) started in 2006, as an informal group of people in the purchasing and supply chain line of work. The Group called themselves, the Purchasing Club of Vietnam (PCV) and a Committee was formed to manage it. A website was also launched, where people who are in the purchasing and supply chain line of work could register as a member of the Club.

I've used a lot of sysyems and POControlcom seems to be the easiest for this kind of thing. It's great if there's a good few people doing the purchasing and we made a lot of savings
