As a growing demand for healthcare institution, nursing is facing compounding shortage but, giving advantage only to those who are taking up nursing as their chosen field of endeavor. The present population of nurses is aging and approaching retirement. With this shortage of nurses expected to last well into the 21st century, nurses are in high demand and start at an approximate salary of $50,000 in the larger metropolitan areas in the country.

This nursing shortage is causing a dramatic increase in salaries for nurses. Hospitals and other facilities are competing for nurses with sign-on bonuses, and packages including cars, childcare and/or eldercare assistance, and housing assistance.

You must consider ideal opportunities when choosing a career whether it will be beneficial for your long-term growth or just provide you with a short-shot of satisfaction. Nurses are considered to be the heart and soul of healthcare settings, practically, offering their services intentionally effective and benefiting good remuneration from their chosen field of endeavor – as a nurse!

Currently, nursing is a constantly emerging profession and it is a large-growing demand presenting nursing career options endlessly. Moreover, the field of nursing is one that offers job diversity with thousands of positions available in hospitals, physician offices and clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, public health, occupational health and more.

In the modern world, there are a large number of specialties within nursing.
