Default Re-cycling old PC equipment

I need to get rid of 15 old PC's (P2/P3's). Any recomondations for recycling companies, or what about charities. Worst case scenario I will need to dump as i need the space, will I have to pay to do this?

By the way if anyone is interested PM me, I dont want any money for them but you will have to collect.

Have you tried charity companies that send your computers to places on this earth that appreciate them. Did you know in Affrica there is 1 Computer for every 3000 People, thats one long waiting list to get your homework done. Most countries that are highly developed have stats going into 2computers for every 1Working person. The stats are really intresting and sometimes funny.

To tell you the truth I have not looked at charities, and with the stats you supplied I really should. Have you used any of these companies? I'll google to see whats around.
Thanks

I have ot personaly, but i work in a private school and having so much money they seem to be upgrading the computers almost every day. So we have been giving a lot of old Computers and Monitors to the charitis. They appreciate anything. We gave about 200 Old moniters and 50 Old computers the other month.

There are various places around the country that would welcome the donation. If your anywhere near Southampton I would recommend jamiescomputerclub .org.uk (Cant post URLs yet so no live link, and take the spaces out), they do a good job.

As for just getting rid of them, be careful I bought a job lot of PC's for spares from eBay around a year ago and they were all from a local council that had been sold for wiping and disposal. Most of them still had data on them.

Always wipe your own data off before giving it to ANYONE (Staff included), and while I remember thats another idea, yes they may be old but you can offer things like that to staff quite a few people will snap them up in most companies.

Woah never thought about giving them to charities and things, I think thats a great Idea.. My college is currently campaining for "Uganda" last year we built basically a whole new school for them and pipes and pumps for fresh clean water and much more. Seats, Boards and space.. They had none of this. We gave them two computers too but it didn't feel the same.

Not ONE of the children knew how to use a computer.. It took them a while even to turn it on but they appreciated it all the same. Now as we check back they have done lots of things to improve there life making money and other stuff and they're doing really well.

I'd search around google for such things or go around locally see if anywhere will take it for a charity..

Or message me I can probably sort something with my college or something.

You could send those to country such as our which needs pc like those. Because most government and charity institutions can't afford them. There are lots of people open to receive them specially in countries like here in Philippines.
