Default Browsers

What is everybodies favourite web browser, ive used FireFox for a very long while, i think its a lot better with its Tabbing. ITs more original. I think also that IE just copied the idea. But still im using IE now. You really cant win. Also what are poeple views on the other Browsers like Opera?

Im the same as you Jamie, used firefox for a while now but still use IE. The problem I find with firefox, although its not the browsers fault is that some sites are still not friendly with firefox so have to keep IE active.

Yes its very silly, i think firefox is used a lot more than IE by a lot more people. I cant see why people dont make sites in concideration to this. ITs not even asking for a great deal of Heartache in making these simple but effective changes.

Yes it really is, you can download plug ins from the firefox website for some errors, maybe this is one that they have adapted to. Im thinking about finsing an opensource Mozzila script and coding it different, maybe adding some of my own features. It might be something i could turn into a Group Prject for anybody who likes to join. But i dont think its legal, so i will probably just keep it personal or create my own browser.

Why would it not be legal? I dont know much about coding, but wouldnt mind trying out your own features, if you want.

IE is still the most common browser found on the web, for some technical/IT websites Firefox is more common but on your average website its around 70% IE, 25% Firefox 5% others (Including Opera)

Realistically if you dont cater to IE you will block out more people than you let in, yes you can code for both however it does get messy. IE7 is a lot better than IE6 but from figure's I've seen only around 50% of people who can upgrade have which leaves us web designers still doing ugly hacks for IE6 for things IE 7 handles fine.

I think that if FireFox was more known around the web and by general internet users around the globe then it would be far more successful than Internet Explorer. This is because the functions are just so much better and I tend to find it runs both faster and things work better.

The plugins for Firefox are great also..

However
I think that Opera is great because of the "Speed Dial" window function that is totally awesome and a quick way to get around.

FireFox's popularity is spreading, but it's happening quite slowly - as has been said, you only get majority FireFox users on technical related forums, where people are more likely to understand what it is.

I personally love using it, but each to their own.
