Default The Internet Gift Store

Hello.
My business is a new e-commerce gift store based in the UK. Our website will be launching by the end of the month with an initial load of around 100 products. The type of things we sell are Playboy gifts, handbags, miniature guitars, elvis memrobilia and Betty Boop gifts.

I am really happy with our new site. You can view it by type Internet Gift Store in google - it comes up number 1.

I have joined up, not because I am looking for investors but I have the folllowing main business goals - and would greatly appreciate any advice offered.
  1. Increasing traffic to the website and hence sales
  2. Legal aspects of setting up an online business.
  3. Feedback on our strategy
  4. We may possible want to buy out smaller web reatilers looking to sell their sites.

I am also looking forward to networking with like-minded entrepreneurs here.

Thanks
IGS

And welcome to the Stake.co.uk forum. It's nice to have you here.
I have just found your site: Buy Unique Gifts and Shop at The Internet Gift Store - Enter here and I think it is very impressive. I look forward to reading more from you.
Regards

Bob,
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for putting up a link to my site.
Can I ask whay I can't put up a link on the forum. Why do you block people from doing this? I understand the need to block spammers from the site but I would think that if I am on your forum talking about my business then I should be able to share the link???
IGS

Hi IGS,
It is a way of controlling spammers who can utterly kill a good forum before it gets off the ground. We also don't want to turn this into a totally self promotional forum. However I do understand your problem and we will think of other ways around it. We are toying with the idea of a pre-screened premium membership system which allows users to post links.

Another reason for not allowing new members to post URLs is also to stop people posting illicit images. You can post images that are drawn in from other sites; like this product I have got from your gift website;

Can you imagine what kind of rubbish a serious spammer would be showing if this were possible.

Great cufflinks by the way! Can you do me a deal...we are very open minded about freebies here

By a premium membership system I guess you mean paid for. What other benefits would you give 'premium members', ie why would I want to become one?
